REAL WEDDING // CADI & ALEX’S BRINSOP COURT WEDDING

Cadi & Alex celebrated their wedding day on a magical summer’s day at the ever-so-dreamy, Brinsop Court.

Tell us about your story, how did you meet and where did the proposal happen?

We met at University, during our first year. Our halls were next to each other so we met during freshers' week and then got together a few months later!

The proposal happened in Cheltenham on a clear April evening when we were taking one of our favourite walks up Cleeve Hill. Alex got down on one knee during sunset. He hid some prosecco in a flask and we toasted our engagement by watching the sunset over Cheltenham. Such a special memory!

What style were you striving for with your table settings, florals, and reception? Was there a certain look or vibe that you wanted to create?

We were after a classy look that was timeless. Our palette was fairly neutral, with accents of gold and blush pinks to tie in with our bridesmaid dresses. Brinsop Court (our venue) was so enchanting so less really was more with our styling. Our table setting was very important to me as I love interior design and creating table settings at home. We were after elegance and romance which I think we achieved with the help of Etiquette Events and our florists Issy & Bella!

Were there any wedding suppliers that you particularly loved working with and why?

Our photographer Hannah Miles. We fell in love with her style and when we met over a glass of fizz, we knew she was the one who would shoot our wedding! She shared our love of capturing the detail and shooting those candid, natural moments. She was not only our amazingly talented photographer on the day but also my personal assistant, fanning my dress and veil for photos and even massaging my foot when I had foot cramp in a field! (Her husband is a sports physiotherapist!)

Issy & Bella our florists. Jo and I knew we’d get along from the very first phone call! We eventually met up for coffee & cake to discuss my vision for the day. She is so talented and really understood the importance of the flowers to me on the day. She was amazing to have around in the morning & I will never forget the emotions that flooded me when she walked into the bridal suite with my bouquet, that’s when it hit me that I really was getting married!

Of course Etiquette Events! It was just so easy from start to finish and allowed us to really bring our vision to life by adding those important details. We felt so reassured having the team there on the day and how they dressed the table was just perfect!

What were your favourite parts of the wedding styling process with Etiquette Events?

I loved how we could go and meet with the stylists, have a glass of fizz, and plan the styling for our day! I’m a bit of an organised control freak and must have popped in or called more than a handful of times. The team was always so enthusiastic and offered their opinion when I asked for them. For me what stood out was how dedicated they were to making our day perfect. We changed our minds a few times but the team was always happy to help. Without Etiquette Events, we would not have had our tablescape of dreams! Everyone needs Etiquette Events in their life!

Tell us what were the most important aspects of your wedding day and which moments really stood out to you?

It was important to us that the day reflected us as a couple. We really wanted our mornings to be as relaxed as possible so that we could enjoy the excitement with our loved ones. We desperately wanted our ceremony and reception outside (our no.1 plan!) but obviously, this was weather dependent. Luckily for us, we had the most beautiful day and our guests were able to enjoy the grounds that we fell in love with during our first visit to Brinsop!

The moments that stood out for me were the morning preparations with my bridesmaids. I (surprisingly) had a great night's sleep the night before and had such a fun morning with my girls! I also loved the ceremony, we wrote our own vows and I’m so glad we did!

For Alex, it was the ceremony and the reception. We had this out on the lawn with plenty of fizz, lawn games, and a string quartet that provided great music that really set the tone amongst the chatter of our guests.

What would be your biggest advice to other couples currently planning their wedding?

Remember it’s your day and no one else will remember the day like you two will, so don’t get pressured into pleasing others if it’s not what you want. Also, make sure you have your cheerleaders with you in the morning, it will set the tone and get your day off to the best start.
