The one where Paige + Chris tied the knot...

Grab your tea...secco it's real bride talk ☕️

Real Bride Talk with Paige Smith 💍

Grab your tea (secco...) and let's get into it!

How did you meet your partner (now husband!)? We actually met in high school but it was never anything more than an awkward 'hi' in the corridor... I was super shy so never really spoke more than 2 words. We re-connected about 6 years later on Facebook and the rest is history.

Where and when did you get engaged? We got engaged on the 3rd of September 2018 in Turkey. Chris had hired out the pier at the hotel- it was the most perfect setting.

Funny story... the waiter nearly gave the whole thing away. As soon as we sat down the waiter came over and said 'ooooh do you want champagne?' Chris quickly answered with 'no, no wine will be fine.'

How did you choose your venue?

Originally we wanted to get married abroad, but after thinking long and hard about it we were worried our grandparents wouldn't be able to make it, so we settled on the UK. One thing we knew for certain was that we wanted to get married outside - this is where Tortworth came in.

When I saw the stunning Orangery I knew that this was the perfect venue for us! It gave us the feeling of being 'outside' for our whole day.

What was your favourite part of the wedding planning process?

I LOVED dress shopping! I got to spend quality time with my favourite people, drinking prosecco and trying on beautiful dresses - what's not to love!

What was your least favourite part of the wedding planning process? The postponements due to COVID-19! We were originally due to get married on the 11th of July 2020 (postponed twice) - I found it really stressful moving over suppliers to the new dates (I loved all our suppliers so much I was afraid they wouldn't be available for our new date).

How would you describe your wedding style?

Sophisticated, timeless and neutral.

What was your favourite item from Etiquette Events and why? It's so hard to choose just 1 item! But if I had to say, it would be the Crystal Cut Glassware. I just loved the elegant feel it bought to the table.

If you could give any advice to any future brides, what would it be? Be selfish. It's so easy to get lost in trying to make everyone else happy (Talking from experience). This is your wedding day, so it needs to be about you two. On a side note... if you're having canapes, ask the venue to put some aside for you both, as we missed ours!
