REAL WEDDING // ADAM & JORDAN’S NUTHURST GRANGE WEDDING

Adam & Jordan celebrated their wedding on a magical winter's day at Nuthurst Grange.

Tell us about your story, how did you meet and where did the proposal happen?

We are childhood sweethearts, meeting when we were just 16 years old. Adam dropped the first message and it went from there, a couple of months of talking eventually led to us meeting.

As we were both young, we were extremely shy and nervous to meet up for the first time. We had our first kiss on our next date and just never looked back.

It took 8 years for Adam to propose. Not surprising for anyone who knows us, it was on Christmas day in 2020 (we're both massive Christmas people/weirdos). Adam's Mom & stepdad were at our house for Christmas, we opened all of our presents together, leaving 1 small box and a card under the tree. Adam's Mom knew what was happening and filmed it all.

I opened the ring first and then moved to the card, which was a normal Christmas card with "Will you marry me?" written in it. As the card opened Adam got onto one knee and waited for the answer. Although, Adam's mom didn't quite understand THAT the question was already in the card and said "say it Adam"!

What style were you striving for with your table settings, florals, and reception? Was there a certain look or vibe that you wanted to create?

The look I wanted was a cosy one with a touch of Christmas. Adam's priority was Christmas decor, saying to Beth at our consultation that he wanted Christmas trees.

I think we had the right amount of Christmas without making it look too much. Adam got his trees so he was a happy boy!

Were there any wedding suppliers that you particularly loved working with and why?

Of course, Etiquette Events were an absolute dream to work with. Made it stress-free for us by liaising with the venue themselves instead of going through us. All of the items we hired looked unbelievable, and the look we wanted was achieved. Beth and Jess were amazing with us, giving us the best advice and helping us create the look we wanted. Jess is also a Christmas person so to have her working on our wedding just worked perfectly.

Our photographer, Darren Gair (Last of the Light), was unbelievable on the day. We were quite nervous about being in front of a camera, but he made it so effortless and enjoyable. Our portraits were made so easy and then he blended into the background and got those natural shots as well. We've had our sneak preview photos from Darren and can't wait to see the rest, they all look amazing.

Our videographer, Richard Crilly, was also unbelievable. We've had a teaser of our wedding video and just wow. We are so excited to see the completed videos. He made everything so effortless, fun, and enjoyable for us. When we went off for our couples' shots, he just found the best spots, and the clips we've seen look even more amazing for that.

The hair and make-up team were also amazing, so attentive, and made the entire bridal party look stunning.

What were your favourite parts of the wedding styling process with Etiquette Events?

Difficult question. The consultation stood out for us, the guys were so welcoming and we got to see some of the items in person, which made it so much easier for us to choose exactly what we wanted. Beth and the team were also honest with us, giving us advice on what goes well together, what works, and the overall look. It just got us both so excited to see the setup on the day.

We loved how attentive everyone was, the weeks leading up to the wedding, regular contact, and the final details call, were all made so easy and stress was taken away from us. Jess handled everything perfectly with the setup as well.

Tell us what were the most important aspects of your wedding day and which moments really stood out to you?

The biggest stand-out moment for us was the ceremony. All of your family and friends are just there to see it, and when you both see each other for the first time it just cannot be replicated. The feeling is hard to describe.

We planned to have no speeches at the wedding, but we ended up doing them and we are so glad we did. All of them went amazingly, there were laughs, almost tears (happy ones) and just all round a good time.

The first dance was another big stand-out moment. Something that we were both nervous about, but once you're there, the song is on and you're dancing, it feels like it's just the two of you present. Truly an amazing feeling.

What would be your biggest advice to other couples currently planning their wedding?

Don't let the small things bother you or add to your stress. Things will change last minute, and things will come up, but on the day, you are in a bubble and you just won't notice.

Go with your gut feeling with everything, it's your day and what you want is what you should have. You'll get bombarded with opinions from family & friends, thinking they're helping, but just do what you and your partner want. It's your day.
