Take a step inside Holly and Oliver's all-white wedding at the Pear Tree.
Tell us about your story, how did you meet and where did the proposal happen? We met during a white-collar boxing event, my best friend introduced us to each other… we went on a date the next day, and the rest is history:) 4 years, a house, and a baby later he proposed in the front room! He dressed our little girl in a vest that said ‘Daddy will you marry mummy’ I was totally surprised it was perfect!
What style were you striving for with your table settings, florals, and reception? Was there a certain look or vibe that you wanted to create?
I always knew the colours would be nudes, beiges, and whites I wanted it to mainly whites and nudes with gold accents when I had my first consultation with Beth she used ‘Ivory LUX’ and at that moment I knew that was what we were striving for.
Were there any wedding suppliers that you particularly loved working with and why? Not including Etiquette here I would have to say my top suppliers would be:
Coordination - Georgina Rose Events (Sophie)
Sophie was a literal angel sent from heaven I could have not gotten through the day without her no job was too much or too big or small. She thought about things I needed before I had even thought of them myself.
Photographer - Poppy Carter Portraits
Poppy was incredible! I never felt like I was away from my guests or wedding we really enjoyed the day whilst still getting the perfect shots which were so important to us - her direction on the day was amazing!
Content creators - MB Events (These are a must!!)
I could rave about Mel and James all day these two are amazing and having all the raw footage of the day to relive it all the very next day is priceless
Videography - Blue Ridge Weddings
Steve was such a calming presence he was so discreet we barely knew he was there (in a good way) we never felt like we were being staged and he really just slotted in with our photographer capturing the best natural footage!
What were your favourite parts of the wedding styling process with Etiquette Events?
ALL OF IT! I am actually still on the group chat now nearly a month later I can’t bring myself to leave just yet!
The whole process was so smooth there is something about Beth she just gets it! I knew a rough idea of what I wanted but I really have her to thank for bringing it to life. From the first consultation, I just knew I was in safe hands with Etiquette no matter who I was dealing with they are all fantastic! I never felt pressured into spending more money than what was needed - it is so easy to want absolutely every item that they stock but they really keep you in check with the vision you discuss in the first consultation to ensure everything is right and not ‘overdone’ it truly was everything I dreamt of and more!
I have to also mention the Etiquette group chat here … it’s the chat I never knew I needed. To have 24/7 access to a wedding planner, Stylists, and other brides that are all going through the planning process at the same time as you really was the highlight for me! They helped me make some of my biggest wedding decisions and I’ll be eternally grateful for Etiquette for this!
Tell us what were the most important aspects of your wedding day and which moments really stood out to you?
The most important aspects for me were the overall look and feel of the venue. I will never forget the feeling of walking into the orangery for the first time and seeing our vision in reality it couldn’t have been more perfect! Also pausing at the top of the aisle and really taking in the moment of seeing the decor, our guests and Oliver stood at the other end waiting for me was amazing.
What would be your biggest advice to other couples currently planning their wedding?
My biggest advice would be to really think about what you want from your wedding before booking anything! For example, if you really wish to have a huge party with a band etc make sure you choose a venue that will accommodate all of your ‘wants’. Unfortunately for us, I feel we chose our venue slightly prematurely and we did have to sacrifice certain ‘wants’ due to restrictions at our venue, so make sure you are able to have everything you want. Secondly, it would be to block out all of the noise and outside opinions. In fact, keep all the details a secret! That way no one can have a negative opinion regarding anything you are planning
‘Your Day, Your Way’ :)
And finally, just soak up the wedding bubble for as long as you possibly can, it really does fly by!
