Take a step inside Georgia and Nathan's monochrome wedding at the Pear Tree.
Tell us about your story, how did you meet and where did the proposal happen? So, we actually met at work. A friend of ours at the Christmas do told me that Nathan had a little soft spot for me and the rest was history from that evening on. Nathan proposed to me 4 years later back in Bath where he took me for our first ever little weekend away. It was just perfect!
What style were you striving for with your table settings, florals and reception? Was there a certain look or vibe that you wanted to create?
Minimalistic, timeless, monochrome. The 3 words I gave to all my suppliers. I am such a black-and-white person, our home is neutral, the clothes I wear are neutral and I knew I wanted our wedding very similar. If it's a white, black or grey colour palette I was always going to love it!
Were there any wedding suppliers that you particularly loved working with and why?
Oh gosh, I could never pick just one! All of my suppliers I absolutely adored and would recommend every single one of them in a heartbeat. I had a very strong all-female team bar my DJ (it was never planned to be like that) but it worked great. All of my suppliers got on amazing and worked together to create the most magical day for myself and Nathan. I would never be able to individually thank them all enough.
Saying that our ceremony and reception singer, Libby and our saxophonist Lizzie were insane. We had SOOO many amazing things said about both of these girls to us by our guests. Every time Libby sang I got goosebumps and every time Lizzie was on the Sax the dance floor was filled!
What were your favourite parts of the wedding styling process with Etiquette Events?
How simple and easy every single little thing went. From my first consultation over Zoom to them being there dressing the venue on the day we never once had any doubts. Etiquette are just living angels. I was even emailing Jess days before our wedding swapping tiny things and she was so accommodating, and I had a change of heart on my bouquet literally 3 days before and Emma and Beth sorted it. Nothing was ever an issue!
Etiquette also has a WhatsApp group chat. This group chat has the most amazing bunch of girls I had the pleasure of talking to about my own wedding and theirs. If there's a problem, the chat can resolve it. If you're feeling stressed, the girls can relate. If you want to show someone who isn't a guest something for advice, they're all eyes and ears. It was just so lovely to have them literally a WhatsApp away.
Tell us what were the most important aspects of your wedding day and which moments really stood out to you?
How the venue was dressed was so important. We wanted it to be very us. Which it was thanks to Etiquette. We added personalisation but kept it still classy and simple at the same time. All the little details that guests would remember. We of course wanted to love it as not only a memory we will keep and cherish forever but one that all our guests will look back on and remember something from our big day.
What would be your biggest advice to other couples currently planning their wedding? If you book any of the suppliers I used I promise you'll be in the best hands, they are all individually so talented and we are so lucky to of had them. If you can, book MB Weddings_Events. Mel and James are phenomenal, to wake up to all of the raw pictures and videos is something I'll never forget. Having a wedding coordinator really does help. Georgie kept us all on track on the day and gave us all the support we needed in the run-up to the wedding. The day ran flawlessly thanks to her. Make the day all about you both! Splurge on the things you know you'll love and scrap things you won't. Just because it's traditional doesn't mean you have to include it. 'You can always make more money but you only have a number of hours to make memories' This is the quote I lived by when wedding planning.
