If you ask Jay Gatsby, there is no expense too great or idea too big when you are trying to impress a long-lost flame. Well, here at Etiquette Events we thought the very same thing when it came to throwing the biggest party of the year.
Last year marked the 3rd birthday of Etiquette Events and we made sure we were going to pull out all the stops, with a big sing and a dance, showcasing exactly what we do so well and celebrating this milestone in true style.
Opening the doors of Eastington Park, we turned the house upside down and took guests on a roaring 1920s Gatsby extravaganza.
After a bumpy and exhausting couple of years in the hospitality industry, we thought, what better way to support, thank and spoil our industry family, as well as celebrate our turning of age with a big ol' knee's up. Invitations consisted of exclusive and personalised boxes, tied with a little black bow, filled with a sweet treat and a feather to tickle ;) we kept everything rather hush hush, giving no surprises away only encouraging ladies and gents to dress up to the nines in their finest 1920s fashion.
We really wanted to make this party stand out. Push the boundaries with our creative design and blow guests' expectations. We steered clear from the stereotype Gatsby design you might have expected, and rather too much of our inspiration from the latest 2013 movie adaptation.
Floral displays were a big part of the design for this party. Our incredible team of florists really had their work cut out for them with the brief... "Think big... and then go bigger!". The movie has a beautiful scene that displays a room bursting with orchids in a pallet of warm neutrals. Elegant and lavish, these florals set the tone and became the foundation for the inspiration and all design decisions.
No party, especially a Gatsby party, is complete without some of the coolest tunes, alluring dancers, mirrored men, signature cocktails, cigar lounges, and a life-size Zebra... right? Well, ours wouldn't have been and all of the above and more featured around the house, surprising guests from start to finish.
What a night and what a dance. It was the tonic our souls all needed and we can't thank those who came to share the dance floor, celebrate and support us a big enough thank you!
And also another big thank you to all the talented stars and suppliers that helped pull this roaring success altogether.
Until the next one ;)
